Pioneertown
We thought maybe we haven't talked about enough old towns, so here's another one. We promise this is the last one, at least for a while! Pioneertown, located just outside Yucca Valley, CA, isn't really an old town anyway.
It was built in 1946 as a movie set for westerns, and to provide a place for the actors to live, and have their homes used as part of a movie set. Roy Rogers was one of the original investors.
There's entertainment here on the weekends, but during the week, it's a pretty sleepy town.
By the way, these three pictures are all HDR (High Dynamic Range) photos. They're made from multiple shots of different exposures. A computer program then combines the shots. The goal is to have the picture look more like what your eyes see. The bright colors are not blown out and the shadows are not as dark.

Isn't HDR totally fun when taking photos? You've done a great job!
Hey, this place is cool. I especially like the bath house. And I think you've got the hdr thing down pat!
Hi Kids, just thought I would drop in and see all the photos taken by Diana while Randy worked his butt off on the hot air balloon....ok, where are they?? Randy, are you missing a blue jacket complete with stocking cap from the early morning chill on Saturday?? We had hoped you were coming out to crew on Sunday so we could return your jacket to you. We so appreciated your efforts on Saturday we were all hoping to get you high on Sunday ( about a mile, maybe a mile and a half LOL) Do contact me and when you are in Phoenix it would be our pleasure to see that you and Diana had that hot air balloon ride. Take care,
Mary ( the glove police)
